AWP Skins on a Budget: The Best AWP Under $1, $5, $20 and $50 (2026)

The best cheap AWP skins in CS2 are Atheris, Duality and Mortis under $5, Capillary and Arsenic Spill under $1, and Fever Dream or Ice Coaled under $20. Above that, $50 buys a Covert: Chrome Cannon, Hyper Beast and Neo-Noir were all under $50 in Field-Tested on 10 October 2026. The famous AWP | Asiimov isn't on the list; even its cheapest wear was over $50.
Catalog pages list every AWP finish without saying what any of them cost. This page does the opposite: it groups the AWPs worth owning by price band, read on 10 October 2026 from the lowest tradable listing on Skinport (wears with at least three listings). Expect Steam Market prices to run higher: a Field-Tested Atheris listed from $5.60 there against $3.56 on Skinport the same day. Curation is by eye; bands are a map, so check today's price before buying.

Under $1

Capillary (Prisma 2 Collection) is the AWP we'd buy with pocket change: a fine vein pattern on grey-green with red fittings, under $1 in Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred. Arsenic Spill, from the Radiant Collection that joined the weekly drop list on 31 March 2025, was under $1 in all five wears, Factory New included. Acheron and Pit Viper fill the same band. Pit Viper's float starts at 0.08, so there's no Factory New, and its Field-Tested sat under $1.
Under a dollar you're buying a colour, not a centrepiece. That's fine: an AWP you'll hold every eco round should at least match the rest of your kit.
Under $5

Atheris is still our favourite cheap AWP: a Restricted finish from the Prisma Collection with a green serpent coiled along the barrel. Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred were under $5. Two Classified finishes sit in the same band: Duality (Revolution Collection), in dark red, and Mortis (Clutch Collection), in rust-orange, both under $5 in Field-Tested. For a Classified AWP, that's about as cheap as it gets.
Worm God (Chroma 2) was under $5 in every wear it has, and it has no Battle-Scarred because its float stops at 0.45. PAW from the Horizon Collection was under $2 in Field-Tested. Exothermic is new: it's from the Harlequin Collection, added to the weekly drop list on 21 January 2026, and its Field-Tested was under $5. Exoskeleton, the orange ribcage from Broken Fang, was under $5 from Field-Tested down.
Under $20

Fever Dream (Spectrum Collection) is the odd one: every wear, Factory New included, was under $20 on our check date, because its float range stops at 0.55 and the spread between wears is small. If you want a clean Factory New AWP on a budget, start here. Ice Coaled, from the Genesis Collection released on 16 September 2025, was under $10 in Field-Tested and under $5 in the bottom two wears; it pairs with the AK of the same name for a matched set.
Green Energy (Boreal Collection) and POP AWP (2021 Train) both sat under $10 in Field-Tested. The End, from the Achroma Collection that joined the drop list in January 2026, and the Wildfire Collection's Elite Build were under $20 in Field-Tested.
Under $50

This is where Covert AWPs start. Chrome Cannon (Kilowatt Collection) and Chromatic Aberration (Recoil) were under $50 in every wear except Factory New. Neo-Noir (Danger Zone) was under $50 in all five, Factory New included; its float stops at 0.50, so even Battle-Scarred is barely battered. Hyper Beast (Falchion), Printstream (Fever) and Wildfire (CS20) were under $50 from Field-Tested down.
Newest in the band is Queen's Gambit, part of the Dead Hand Collection that arrived on 11 March 2026; only its Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred copies were under $50. To buy any of these, compare the same wear on Skinport and DMarket, or use Tradeit if you want it now and will pay for speed.
Looks expensive, isn't: three ways to stretch a budget
Buy Factory New where the float is capped. A finish whose float range ends low keeps its wears close together, so Factory New costs little more than the rest. Fever Dream's Factory New was under $20 and Neo-Noir's under $50 on our check date, while a Factory New Hyper Beast was over $100. A pristine AWP reads as money spent, even when it wasn't.
Take Classified art at Restricted prices. Rarity tiers set drop odds, not looks. Duality and Mortis are Classified finishes that cost under $5 in Field-Tested, less than Restricted picks like Atheris and Exoskeleton. Nobody in a lobby can see the rarity colour; they see the art.
Match the set. The AWP and AK-47 both have an Ice Coaled finish, and on 10 October 2026 both were under $10 in Field-Tested, the AK under $5. Two guns in one colour story look deliberate in a way that one expensive skin doesn't. Our blue CS2 loadout builds the rest of a kit around the same palette.

The Asiimov row explains why it isn't a budget pick. Its float starts at 0.18, so Factory New and Minimal Wear don't exist, and its three real wears were all between $50 and $100. The look most people picture, the clean orange-and-white panels, needs a low-float Field-Tested, which sits at the top of that range.
How wear shows on the AWP
The AWP is a long gun, and unscoped it fills a big slice of your screen, so wear on light finishes is easier to spot than on a pistol. Dark and busy finishes hide it: Atheris, Capillary and Mortis look nearly the same in Field-Tested as in Minimal Wear. Light, flat finishes don't: on Fever Dream and the Asiimov, scratches show early.
Float caps do some of the work for you. A finish whose range stops low, like Neo-Noir (0.50) or Fever Dream (0.55), never gets truly wrecked, so its cheapest wear is still presentable. A finish that starts high, like the Asiimov at 0.18, never looks pristine at all. Some caps are extreme: Man-o'-war only exists between 0.10 and 0.20, and Graphite stops at 0.12.
StatTrak and stickers on a budget AWP
StatTrak adds a kill counter and changes nothing else about the look. On our check date it cost between 1.5 and 2.7 times the normal Field-Tested price on these picks. On a cheap AWP that can still be a few dollars, so it's a reasonable treat; on a Covert it's real money for a number on the stock. Some budget finishes, including Arsenic Spill, Pit Viper and Exothermic, have no StatTrak version at all.
Stickers are the cheaper way to personalise. Plain paper stickers with steady supply cost a few cents: the median lowest listing for paper stickers with at least ten listings on Skinport was $0.11 on 10 October 2026. Pick one that matches the finish's main colour and you've got a coordinated AWP for the price of the gun.
Edge cases
- Trade-locked copies: some listings are cheaper because the item is still inside Valve's 7-day Trade Protection window; we ignored them.
- Souvenir AWPs: a few finishes also exist as tournament Souvenirs, priced separately from normal copies.
- Thin wears: where a cell says 'thin', one or two listings set the price; wait for more supply.
- Full kits: match the AWP to an AK in our AK-47 budget guide, or browse the budget gallery for pistols.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best cheap AWP skin?
Atheris for most players: a green serpent design that was under $5 in Field-Tested on 10 Oct 2026. Duality and Mortis are Classified alternatives in the same band, and Capillary is the pick under $1.
How many AWP skins are there in CS2?
About 52, per the community item database read in October 2026. New collections keep adding more, such as Exothermic (Harlequin) and Queen's Gambit (Dead Hand) in 2026.
Does float matter on the AWP Asiimov?
Yes. Its float starts at 0.18, so only Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred exist, and the clean look needs a low Field-Tested float. All three wears were between $50 and $100 on 10 Oct 2026.
What is the cheapest Covert AWP?
On 10 Oct 2026, Chrome Cannon, with Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred copies under $50 on Skinport. Chromatic Aberration, Hyper Beast and Neo-Noir were in the same band.
Is a StatTrak AWP worth it on a budget?
Only if you want the counter. On our picks StatTrak cost 1.5 to 2.7 times the normal Field-Tested price on 10 Oct 2026, with no change to the look.
